Test Center Threat Watch Comes Under Spam Attack

According to news reports came in during the 4th week of October 2008, the spam filter of Threat Watch's network was attacked by spam soon after it was powered on. Threat Watch is a Test Center that assesses the day's intrusion attempts and malware on its online security test platform.

The investigators of the Threat Watch network attack disclosed that the highly persistent offenders, spammers, comprised a batch of fake advertisers attempting to entice the recipients of the spam into following a link to become wealthy by contacting certain services. These services' e-mail IDs were reportedly given in the fraudulent e-mail that indirectly led recipients to come in contact with the spam criminals.
