Trojan “RSPlug” Enters the Internet World in New IncarnationIntego researchers issued a warning on November 18, 2008, alerting users about a latest version of a Trojan - RSPlug - present on several adult websites. They ranked the extent of probable danger from this variant as 'medium'. As per the security experts, this Trojan - a form of DNSChanger - can alter the local DNS (Domain Name System) settings to forward the users to phishing sites designed for PayPal, banks and eBay. It should be installed at the request of the user and requires an administrator password.
