Two Malicious Programs Exploiting Vulnerability in Windows MachineMicrosoft said on November 25, 2008 that a vulnerability, for which a patch was released in October 2008, is targeted by two malicious programs. According to the security experts, two malicious programs -a bot program called IRCbot.BH and another network worm named Conflicker.A - are exploiting the vulnerability to propagate themselves. Trend Micro, a security firm, said that the worm increases the traffic on the port (port 445) which is used for sharing Windows files. In addition, the security company added that both the malicious programs could be related as they are often found together on the same compromised computers.
