Symantec Reports Dominant Online Security Tendencies of 2008Researchers at Symantec, an internet security firm, released the most prevalent security trends commonly witnessed in 2008. The report said that new versions of the infamous old malware were the major internet threats during 2008. These fresh samples of malware comprised millions of unique threats that multiply while spreading rapidly. Furthermore, fake utility and security programs called "scareware" too were widespread in 2008.
