Hackers Target Members of Social Networking Communities

All media and social networking websites that market web space via third-party networks or allow customers to upload videos on their computers must be cautious about the content circulating on their networks, caution Internet security specialists.

Web banner, video content and hoax social network profiles have become the source for stealing private data since greater number of people are registering online. In 2008, advertisements on sites attracting high volume of traffic like Blick, Expedia, MySpace and Rhapsody tremendously increased malware downloads. Majority of the malicious software are spread via pop-up ads, though only some of them require click to download.
