German Job Seekers Hit with Nigerian Scam

According to reports, Internet users in Germany are now-a-days receiving e-mails which state that in order to expand its operations, a company called "IT-Electronics" is hunting for personnel, as per the news published by Trendmicro on May 20, 2009.

The spam message opens with "Dear recipient". The e-mail informs the recipients that the company is once again revealing its aim of employing German employees.

To impart a legitimate look to the spam and to the make it more convincing, the spam content states that IT-Electronics is seeking responsible, industrious and honest professionals of 21-67 years of age. They will be given the facility of working from home in return of 300-500 Euro per week.

The spam further asks the recipient to visit the website of the fake company IT-Electronics to know about job vacancies. The link given in the e-mail apparently directs the users to IT-Electronics website, wherein careers tab displays a job vacancy written in German whereas the remaining webpage is written in English. This strange feature points towards the phishing nature of the e-mail. Interestingly, the description of job nearly resembles the Nigerian scam.

The e-mail also informs the recipient that the client of IT-Electronics has informed IT-Electronics that he is looking forward to sign a supply deal with the company. Besides, it states that the employee is granted a fraction of every transaction made through his bank, which would be transferred immediately to his account. Thus, interested person requires merely a bank account. It also adds that the company provides the banking details of the employees to the client so as to facilitate the transfer of commission.

Security experts said that authentic employers do not ask for the banking details of their employees. Thus, they have advised recipients not to make any payment.

Finally, prior entering any sort of job contract with a website, users must think twice whether making money is that easy because many people are yet in search for a dependable method to earn money online.
