Jessica Biel - Most Risky Celebrity to Search Online

According to the Internet security company 'McAfee', Jessica Biel, 27-year-old Hollywood actress, is a popular celebrity but also the most dangerous star to search in cyber space.

Indeed, a search using phrases like "Jessica Biel," "Jessica Biel videos," "Jessica Biel wallpaper" or "Jessica Biel downloads" would result in a 20% possibility of landing on an Internet site loaded with e-threats like viruses, adware, spyware, or other malicious programs or is found positive with spam or phishing attempts, said McAfee. Thus, a search for the most current downloads and news of the celebrity could result in severe damages to the user's PC.

For the 3rd consecutive year, McAfee has picked those celebrity names that are the most risky to search online. The reason, it says, these celebrities are risky is that cyber criminals exploit the general public's inquisitiveness of these stars in attempts to entice people into visiting malicious websites that present free screensavers, ringtones and stories. Thus, once surfers land on these websites, they get infection from harmful malware via clicking on web-links or downloading innocent looking files from the Net.

Jeff Green, Senior Vice-President of Product Development and Avert Labs, McAfee, said -cyber criminals are themselves star-watchers and capitalize on well-known personalities so that they can motivate people to download malware in cover, as reported by NEWSOK on August 25, 2009.

Green added that while end-users' fascination for celebrity culture and news could be theoretically harmless, still one badware from the Net could lead to immense destruction of a PC.

During 2008, the No.1 risky name for search online was Brad Pitt (another Hollywood star) while Biel wasn't even one among the Top Ten. Theoretically, it may be said that the rise of Jessica Biel's rank was due to her date with Justin Timberlake, but then she is also very hot.

Moreover, other risky search names, according to McAfee, are chronologically Beyonce, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Brady and Jessica Simpson, while the company observes that President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, first lady, of the USA are harmless searches at No. 34 and 39 positions respectively.
