BookWhirl.com Issues Phishing E-mail Alert

The book-marketing website "BookWhirl.com" has cautioned people about recent phishing campaigns aimed at self-published writers. The campaigns operates by dispatching e-mails which seem as they have been sent from the website itself.

Using false names and contact information, these e-mails try to extract recipients' private details for financial benefit.

"BookWhirl.com" has posted one example on its website to describe the fraudulent electronic mail (e-mail). The purpose is to help people getting this type of e-mails to recognize the phishing message.

The electronic mail claims that its sender came to know about the recipient's book which it (the sender) will like to promote. For that, it wishes to assist in posting the recipient's book on 1,000 most visited websites so that the book gets an online exposure.

Furthermore, the phishing e-mail tells the recipient that he needs to answer back through e-mail or contact the sender over a given telephone number.

In the end, the sender writes a formal statement to lend the e-mail an apparently authentic look

However, the BookWhirl.com managing body has suggested people to be careful so that they don't get trapped in the phishing scheme.

Moreover, the management body has made its systems secure to fight against phishers and to safeguard customers. It also constantly reiterates to people that they should verify all e-mails by checking and re-checking the details for contact. It stresses that merely those e-mail IDs, which have 'bookwhirl.com' in the suffix and the contact information mentioned on BookWhirl's website, are regarded genuine. All the remaining e-mails are fake and should be avoided.

BookWhirl.com advises that anyone getting this kind of e-mails should instantly delete them and has cautioned never to do as asked inside the e-mails since the messages are all false.

Besides, to help everyone who may have fallen victim to the phishing scam, BookWhirl.com has directed them to get in touch with the book-marketing company without delay. For that, they can send BookWhirl a message at Info@BookWhirl.com or call it through at the toll-free phone number.
