USA Experiences Increased Spam during April, Reports Kaspersky

The just published April 2012 Spam Report by Kaspersky Labs the security company shows that the total volume of junk e-mails commonly called spam had increased significantly during April 2012.

The increase, according to the report, is by 2.2% in contrast with the earlier month of March 2012, with the mean recorded as 77.2%.

The security company further observed that the spam sources' distribution according to geographical regions also underwent prominent alterations. Thus, USA got ranked second in terms of being the greatest disseminator of spam. The same kind of e-mails originating from China also increased 5%, making the country the fifth most distributing source of junk messages globally.

On the other hand, in Indonesia, unsolicited e-mails or spam fell 5.2% as against the surges in USA or China.

Senior Spam Analyst Ms. Maria Namestnikova at Kaspersky Labs states that spammers who disseminate phishing e-mails as well as malware continue to seek the most convenient and quickest route for reaching people's computers. Thehindubusinessline.com published this in news on May 18, 2012.

Moreover, according to the most recent spam report, during April 2012, there was a return of political spam, chiefly aiming at French and US recipients. The spam mails used Barack Obama's name in just the same frequency as it happened in the first 12 months since his becoming the President of United States. Furthermore, in addition to political spam that mentioned Mr. Obama's name, disclosing his political agenda alternatively alleging that USA's first citizen apprehends loosing the next run for the presidential election, another spam outbreak that touted various conventional spammer products, particularly Viagra, yet again mentioned Obama's name.

In fact according to Ms. Namestnikova, during the months ahead, there maybe re-emergence of spam mails that have been all too frequent having scandalous news of present United States President, Barack Obama.

In the meantime, there's increasingly other spam cashing in on the London scheduled Summer Olympics and the soccer championship to be held in Europe. Accordingly, several e-mail junk provides staying accommodations to football enthusiasts who mayn't have still reserved hotel rooms inside Ukraine and Poland, the security company concludes.
