Security Consultancy firm Digital Bond, which specializes in protecting large PCs utilized for controlling critical infrastructures particularly gasoline refineries and dams recently became the target of spear phishers, published arstechnica.com dated June 12, 2012.

Actually, a phishing e-mail was dispatched as it addressed an employee of Digital Bond by name as well as utilized a sender's id, which seemed to be of the founder and CEO Dale Peterson of Digital Bond. The fake electronic mail carried one PDF attachment.

The attached file displayed its name as 'Leveraging_Ethernet_Card_Vulnerabilities_in_Field_Devices.pdf.exe' that if viewed planted the spoolsvr.exe Trojan installer.
