Walmart Consumers Being Targeted with Phishing E-mail

The multinational retail chain of USA, Walmart lately cautioned customers to remain watchful about one fresh phishing e-mail scam that posed as coming from it, so published bostonherald.com, May 16, 2013.

Captioned as "Thanks for your Walmart.com Order," the fraudulent e-mail has a misspelled sender's name, while Walmart too is wrongly spelled as Wallmart.

A certain customer who became victimized stated that on receipt of the e-mail, she followed a given web-link, thinking she'll be able to inform the customer-service of Walmart that she had not made any purchase order for a Walmart item. Kgw.com published this dated May 16, 2013.

The victim explained that when she clicked the web-link, her PC started producing numerous warnings, according to which, one program was engaged in repossessing each of her stored passwords along with other things. She eliminated that program while anticipated that her system would be safe.

Effectively according to Walmart, a fake electronic mail was getting dispatched to several individuals, on May 16, 2013 morning, supposedly from Walmart.com.
