Armin van Buuren has Become World’s most Dangerous Celebrity – Intel Security

THE ECONOMIC TIMES published on 29th September, 2015 quoting a new study by security vendor Intel Security, as "almost 1 out of 5 results generated by Armin van Buuren searches are links to malicious sites."

DJ Armin van Buuren, Electronic Dance Music (EDM), has replaced humorist and talk-show anchor Jimmy Kimmel as most dangerous celebrity to search online according to Intel Security. For the nine consecutive years, Intel Security has researched popular culture's most celebrated people to highlight who, out of them, generates most dangerous results.

Armin van Buuren is the first DJ and the third male to have found his way to No. 1 spot (moving up from No. 2 in 2014) following Brad Pitt in 2008 and Jimmy Kimmel in 2014. Usher takes the No. 3 spot between Luke Bryan at No. 2 and Britney Spears at No. 4. Top 10 includes Amy Schumer (No. 7), Betty White (No. 8), Lorde (No. 9) and Nina Dobrev (No. 10). Out of top 10, seven are musical artists starting from EDM artists to country, hip hop and pop.

According to the news published by theinquirer.net on 29th September, 2015, McAFee asks "Who does not love to search for celebrities online?" apparently verbally before suggesting that everyone does and there may be some negatives associated with this kind of thing.

The firm added: "Hollywood gossip on the web hooks lot of us from the red carpet photos to clips of the latest fashion faux pas but sometimes, our interest in stars can lead us to digital danger zones. Cyber criminals take advantage of our interest in celebrities by damaging search results with links to sites which might host malware and other online threats and steal our personal data which harms our machine.

The roundup in this year has produced some new surprising faces. It is not surprising that world famous DJ Armin van Buuren of Netherland has taken number one spot from number two in 2014.

Intel security said that employees and consumers should be aware that cybercriminals exploit this interest by alluring Internet users to sites loaded with malware.
