Pakistani Hackers Succeed in Bringing Down the Indian Eastern Railways Site

With attack on website of the Eastern Railways (ER) on December 24, 2008, flaws in government sites have been exposed, as reported by hindujagruti on December 25, 2008.

Reports also informed that it took around 2 and half hours to repair the site of ER. Meanwhile, users of the site were consistently targeted by the Trojan virus.

On December 24, 2008, the ER website, www.easternrailway.gov.in, was found filled up with several messages by attackers in its scroll section, said the reports.

The scroll which usually shows official declarations was full with notes like "You are hacked", "Whackerz-Pakistan has declared cyber war against the Indian cyberspace" and "Zaid Hamid hit the Indians".
