BitDefender - Trojans Constituted Key Security Threat in 2008
According to an Internet threat study titled "E-Threats Landscape Report" by security company BitDefender, over 80% of malicious programs distributed across the world last year (2008) comprised destructive Trojans.
The company's reports revealed that its security experts examined and analyzed the problems emerged in Q2 2008 and discovered that Internet users had to deal with several menaces. These included about 2,000 fresh and mutated viruses daily, almost 50,000 phishing attacks every month and over 10,00,000 compromised PCs that spread Trojans, bots, rootkits and other malicious programs in 2008.
