Sunflower Broadband Cautions Subscribers of Phishing Attack

A leading company in telecommunication industry Sunflower Broadband is asking its customers to be wary of an ongoing phishing e-mail scam that especially targets its subscribers.

The phishing e-mail certainly appears to be the work of phishers who have fabricated the e-mail in such a manner that it creates confusion and panic among the e-mail recipients.

The phishing e-mail informs the customers of Sunflower Broadband that it regrets to announce that the Company will be making certain important maintenance in the database of webmail.sunflower.com.

The e-mail further tells them that they might have to face some login problems while signing into their online accounts. However, to avoid facing the inconvenience, customer has to contact the company without any delay and confirm his account immediately following the receipt of the notification from Sunflower.

Meanwhile, Sunflower has posted an alert warning on its website, informing its customers that no such notification has been dispatched by the Company. Customers are also told that the Company does not collect their account details through e-mails and declared the e-mail in circulation as a phishing scam.

Furthermore, it asks customers to avoid replying to the fake e-mail or sending their personal details in case they happen to receive the e-mail. Subscribers are also advised to delete the phishing e-mail even without opening it.

Sunflower stated that the ongoing phishing e-mail scam is simply a variation of a common e-mail that has been received by the users of several e-mail services over the years. The Company informs its customers that it would mass mail its subscribers only at times of service alerts, for instance downtime notification.

The Company has assured its subscribers that the entire matter is being investigated and begged apology for any inconvenience caused to the customers.
